Russia’s Severstal-Metiz sees spending on repairs up 5% in 2007
Russia's Severstal-metiz is expected to spend 522.5 million rubles next year on repairs at its Russian plants, up 5% on the year, the company said Wednesday. In particular, the company is expected to spend 311.7 million rubles, up 1.4% on the year, at the Cherepovets plant; 143 million rubles, up 12.5% on the year, at the Oryol plant; and 68 million rubles, up 13% on the year, at the Volgograd plant.
Severstal-Metiz is Russia's largest metal hardware producer. It accounts for over 31% of Russia’s metal hardware market. Severstal-Metiz has production facilities in Cherepovets, Oryol, Volgograd, and Ukraine's Dnepropetrovsk.
In April, Severstal-Metiz acquired three production facilities in the U.K.
Last year the company produced over 825,000 tonnes of metal hardware, of which 200,000 tonnes was exported.
Severstal-Metiz is part of Severstal Group holding, which comprises steel, automotive and mining assets.
