Severstal Group To Set Up YuniFence Metal Gauze Co Jan 1, 2007
All metal gauze producing subdivisions of Severstal-Metiz, as well as its subsidiary Policher, will be incorporated into a new specialised enterprise named YuniFence on January 1, 2007, it was reported on December 7, 2006. Alexey Pakhotin, former head of Policher, will became director of the new company. The new enterprise is planned to develop production of mesh grid and to set up production of welded mesh at Severstal's Dneprometiz unit in Ukraine.
The setting up of the new company will allow Severstal-Metiz to strengthen its position on the Russian metal gauze market and on the markets of the neighbouring countries.
Severstal-Metiz is a division of Severstal Group. Severstal Group comprises also metal products manufacturer Severstal; Severstal-Invest; and automobile manufacturer Severstal-Auto. Severstal Group is controlled by Russian businessman Alexei Mordashov.
