Severstal-metiz Boosts 2Q2007 Net Profit by Almost 300% Y/Y
Severstal- metiz saw second quarter net profit rise 293% year-on- year to 473.6 million roubles ($18.6m/E13.5m). The higher financial figures at Severstal-metiz were due to internal and external factors. On the one hand, the higher profit was influenced by a change in the sales structure, which focused on high-margin products. As a result of work to enhance the company's internal efficacy, administrative and commercial costs were cut significantly. On the other hand, the higher profit was due to the seasonal factor, as warm winter led to an early demand for construction sector products.
