Severstal-Metiz strengthens presence in Ukraine
Russian wire and wire products maker Severstal-Metiz has raised its shareholding in its Ukrainian subsidiary Dneprometiz from 60% to 95%. It acquired the additional shares from Ukraine’s TAS financial group, Steel Business Briefing learns.Dneprometiz has a number of advantages compared to our Russian plants, namely, lower production costs and transport tariffs and favourable logistics, head of Severstal-Metiz group, Olga Naumova, commented.
In the near future, we plan to turn Dneprometiz into a modern wire-drawing facility, able to produce high value added (low carbon) products corresponding to European standards, Naumova added.
