The Severstal-metiz Volgograd plant was established as the Stalingrad steelwire and rope plant in 1954.
In August 2004 Severstal-metiz acquired the Volgograd plant which became a part of the Severstal-metiz group of companies. The Volgograd plant is an enterprise with increasing potential and a rich history, with more than 10 million tons produced over the last half century.
The current production strategy at the Severstal-metiz Volgograd plant is oriented towards high carbon products - steel wire and ropes.
