 cherepovets plant
The Severstal-metiz Cherepovets plant was established in 1965 and it is core plant of the Severstal-metiz group of companies.
In August 2003 the Cherepovets plant was integrated with the Orel steel rolling plant to create a stronger metalware alliance. The Severstal-metiz Cherepovets plant was responsible for the administrative and marketing functions until the creation of the Severstal-metiz Management Company.
The current production strategy at the Severstal-metiz Cherepovets plant is primarily oriented towards the high-carbon and calibrated products.
The Cherepovets plant is a producer of wide range of products: nails, wire, steel and welded mesh, welding materials, ropes, mechanical and railway fasteners, as well as calibrated steel, chains and steel profiles.
Starting in 2004, there has been a focused program to develop production technologies and new products including; flux-cored welding wire, 6x8 cm hexagonal double twisted wire mesh, steel fibre and special nails.
