 severstal-metiz: welding consumables
The subsidiary of Severstal-metiz produces a wide range of electrodes (including high quality electrodes with advanced processing characteristics), welding wire for the pipe industry (of large and small diameters) and flux-cored welding wire. It is the commercial business for sales of solid welding wire manufactured by Severstal-metiz.
The company is based in the welding consumables production shops at the Cherepovets and Orel plants.
Creation of the Severstal-metiz: Welding Consumables specialist business is the next step in the niche strategy of the Severstal-metiz group of companies. Due to this all the resources needed for development of the welding materials are concentrated in one business. Together with the programmes on electrodes quality improvement and equipment upgrading, this will give Seversal-metiz the ability to strengthen its positions in the welding consumables market segment. Severstal-metiz recently reported on the forming of a new business unit from the existing welding consumables production in October last year.
The business unit started its activity in January 1, 2009.
Vladimir Kononov is the Head of the business.
