Orel plant
The Severstal-metiz Orel plant was established in 1967.
In August 2003 the Orel plant was integrated with the Cherepovets steel rolling plant to create a stronger metalware alliance. Since January 2006, the Orel plant is a separate production division and is part of the Severstal-metiz group of companies.
The current production strategy at the Severstal-metiz Orel plant is primarily orientated towards the production of high-value added goods. The Orel plant produces a wide range of products including welding electrodes and fasteners.
Due to the advantageous geographical location (362 km from Moscow, 398 km from Kharkov, 544 km from Brest), the Orel plant holds a strategic role as the export centre for the Severstal-metiz company.
